Sophroneo Rescue started simply. It began at a table in Southwest Colorado, listening to three friends who loved the outdoors and had experience in military, SAR, and public safety talk about the gear they relied on. It became clear that while there were already great brands out there, there just weren't enough options to meet the demand. After listening and doing the research, I realized that the concept and need for carrying essentials on the chest—due to its ergonomic positioning on the body and the cognitive load-reducing organization it provides—was a growing need in public safety and SAR.

I wasn’t a gear expert or a designer; to be honest and authentic, I'm a normal guy who had zero background in that world. I didn't even know this type of gear and concept existed until my friends mentioned it at that table (yeah!). I definitely didn't want to be a "tactical giant." I was just someone who listened and saw a way to provide a solution that would offer real value for those in public safety professions who were searching for it. And by God’s grace and the insight from the professionals doing the real work, along with encouragement from friends in our circle at the time, I took the first step and launched Sophroneo Outfitter Co. (now Sophroneo Rescue Co.).

Command & Operations

Sophroneo is a family-driven operation. I’m a husband, father, and solopreneur supported by my wife and our four kids, who keep us grounded. My wife handles some—though not all—of our administrative tasks and helps out whenever she can. I am currently working to earn my teaching degree while successfully building and scaling Sophroneo at the same time. We truly love doing this; we want to maintain the passionate entrepreneurial spirit God put in us as a central part of our lives and teach these principles to the younger generation in the future, when the opportunity arrives.

Today, we are backed by field-tested testimonies from real-world operators; our chest packs are trusted by professional Search and Rescue team members. If they’ve provided a solution for SAR operators, they will certainly more than accomplish that for hikers, hunters, fishers, and everyday adventurers.
